The Dawson Family Newsletter January '12

Hi, everyone,

Two weeks ago at one of the C3 school clubs we read Luke 6:46-49. Then we asked the students what does Jesus ask us to do. One student said, "He asks us not to be ashamed of Him." I then asked how do we not be ashamed of him here at school. The student responded, "Well...just by coming to C3 is one way. Everyone knows that this club is about Jesus."

The student's response reminds me how C3's presence sends a message. C3 gives students, like this one, an opportunity to represent Jesus no matter how scary that can be for a teenager. C3 also give those students who don't know Jesus a place to be discipled and see what it means to represent Jesus at school.

Thank you for your prayers and support. You truly make a huge difference for C3 and all of the students we serve at the 10 campuses, like the student mentioned above.

Blessings,

Adam, Elizabeth, Jilas, Aidan, and Jeremiah Dawson

East Chapel Hill's Act of Kindness
Seven students at East Chapel Hill passed out 125 free cups of hot chocolate last Wednesday during lunch. They put bible verses on each cup and served their peers with a smile. You could hear students say things like, "Oh, the Jesus Club is giving away hot chocolate!"

Prayer Requests
1) Please pray for the C3 students at the 10 campuses: Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Durham Tech,
East Chapel Hill, Hillside, Homeschool, Jordan, Kestrel Heights, Middle Creek, and Riverside. Pray for changed lives.
2) Please pray for additional student and adult leaders to be called to C3's work. Leaders change everything.
3) Pray for open doors at the remaining campuses in the area, including all of the area middle schools. Pray that C3 leaders develop at each of the remaining campuses.
